Its facilities include four soccer fields, a baseball field and playgrounds, with a universally accessible playscape and swings for all abilities. A 0.6-mile aggregate pathway follows the park’s perimeter, providing a loop for walking and running. Dogs are welcome, and a free parking lot is available. For picnics, the park has barbecue grills, picnic tables and a pavilion with picnic-table seating for 100 people. Modern public restrooms are also on site. Catalpa Oaks hosts the Annual Great Marshmallow Drop, a spring event that draws more than 5,000 participants to watch 15,000 marshmallows fall from a helicopter.
